Business Rules Journal Submissions

The Journal encourages qualified professionals to submit material for possible publication. All accepted material is subject to editing.

Material submitted to BRCommunity.com should focus on a timely issue or solution relating to topics of interest to our community. Case studies are especially desirable. Material should not be product- or vendor-specific, unless such reference is relevant to a company's or professional's experience.

Guidelines

  1. If you are not sure whether your topic is appropriate for the Journal, it is suggested that you submit an abstract. After reviewing the abstract, we will contact you if we would like to see the complete piece. However, we will not make final publication decisions without having the complete piece to review.

  2. Material must be submitted via email in a format compatible with Microsoft Word™.

  3. Suggested length is between 800 and 2,500 words, but this is not a hard-and-fast requirement — articles that exceed this guideline may be submitted. Longer articles may be serialized, at the discretion of the editors.

  4. We encourage use of illustrations in the material we publish. Tables and figure art may be provided in-line, as part of the source document. Please ensure that no included material is subject to copyright protection.

  5. Along with your submission, please supply all the following:

    • A brief abstract (three or four sentences) suitable for inclusion in our article index.

    • Your short biography (one or two paragraphs). If you would like readers to contact you directly, please include your email address and/or website's URL.

    • Your photograph (head shot). A color photo is preferred, but a black-and-white photo is acceptable.
