About the Business Rules Manifesto ~ The Business Rule Message in a Nutshell
I am about to write the shortest column I have ever written. That's because something very important happened recently — the publication of the Business Rules Manifesto by the Business Rules Group. It's short and to the point, so there's no need for much of an introduction.
In some two dozen straightforward points, the Manifesto declares independence for rules in the world of requirements. The new role it sets forth for rules is not a pre-eminent one — just a separate and equal one. Don't underestimate the potency of that message! I believe the Manifesto signals nothing less than a revolution in business architecture that will radically change how people on both the business and IT sides think and act with respect to business logic.
Have a look for yourself.[1] It's the business rule message in a nutshell (or should I say bombshell?!). Then download it and send it on to your colleagues. Get the word out around the world!
